Harps of Comfort provides live, online music for patients affected by COVID-19.
Like much of the world, we are heartbroken over the isolation of patients with COVID-19. As harpists with years of experience in medical settings, we know first-hand how powerful music can be as a tool for symptom management, comfort, and even meaning-making in the face of suffering. Our harpists include music-thanatologists, therapeutic musicians, certified music practitioners, and certified therapeutic harp practitioners.
We formed Harps of Comfort in April 2020 to offer live music to COVID-19 patients, their loved ones, and front line caregivers, using Zoom, WebEx, and other virtual platforms.
The harp music and singing is quiet and contemplative, offering a spacious opportunity for rest, relaxation, and comfort. Loved ones and caregivers are encouraged to attend remotely.
We are funded by donations and offer music sessions at no cost to patients or their loved ones.
